Witness in Passing was an emotional project for me, inspired by a terrible experience. I was driving along a country road in New Hampshire and witnessed what proved to be a fatal two car accident. So many drivers stopped and we all jumped in to see how we could help. I ended up sitting in the back seat of one of the cars, talking to a young woman who was not able to get out of the car. Several years later now, and I still find it hard to write about the time spent in that car. The driver, a young woman with beautiful flowing hair died. The experience shook me to the core: the fragility of life.
